A Note and Invitation from TMA PracticeEdge Chair Linda Villarreal, MD

Hello to the TMA PracticeEdge family! I’m thrilled and honored to have been designated as the new chair of our board.

TMA PracticeEdge has become a mover and shaker in the value-based care revolution. In just over four years we’ve created 15 ACOs, amassing over 500 physicians and 230,000 attributed patient lives. We’re leading the future of independent medicine.

As we enter our fourth year, and as the landscape for value-based care continues to shift, I’m eager to grow our network of ACOs, increase our presence in health care for seniors, and help our ACOs prepare for risk — but, above all, make sure Texas’ independent doctors are rewarded for their outstanding work caring for their patients.

A little background about me: I’ve been part of the TMA family of medicine since 1989, serving as president of the Hidalgo-Starr County Medical Society, a member of TEXPAC, and a part of various councils and committees. I now serve on the TMA Board of Trustees and as a TMA delegate to the American Medical Association.

If we haven’t met yet, I hope we’ll have the chance to shake hands at our upcoming ACO Collaborative. Save the date for July 26-27 in Austin for two days of CME-eligible discussions offering advice on improving your ACO and fellowship with like-minded physicians from all over Texas. Invitations will hit your mailboxes and inboxes soon.

As TMA PracticeEdge enters our fourth year, the future looks bright. I look forward to working side by side with you.

Sincerely,

Linda Villarreal, MD
